The Annie’s brand has been a popular destination since its establishment in Lilongwe in 1986. Annie’s was first established in Area 2 as a cozy coffee shop and backpackers’ haven. Over the years, it grew into one of the first lodges in Malawi by 1994. Now, with decades of experience, we continue to offer exceptional hospitality and comfort in both Blantyre and Zomba.. Recognizing this opportunity, the owners of Annie’s Coffee Shop expanded their services and rebranded the establishment as “Backpackers” in 1994. This transformation marked the beginning of Annie’s Lodge as a full-fledged hospitality provider, catering especially to budget-conscious travelers and backpackers seeking a comfortable place to stay in the heart of Lilongwe.
